Emma Jones CBE, Small Business Commissioner has been recognised by The Entrepreneurs Network (TEN) for championing the UK as a place to do business.
In their latest survey TEN asked founders which entrepreneur they believe best champions the UK as a place to do business. Emma came in the top ten alongside Sir Richard Branson, Lord Alan Sugar and Sir James Dyson.
The survey, conducted by Public First, asked what British entrepreneurs really think of the UK as a place to build a business, and the figures who best represent its entrepreneurial spirit.
When asked “Which entrepreneur best champions the UK as a place to do business?” Emma was the only woman to make the top 10. Asked “Which public figure best represents the UK’s entrepreneurial spirit?” Emma also scored in the top ten alongside Victoria Beckham and Sebatian Cole.
Reflecting on the survey Emma said:

Emma started her first business in 2000. The experience of starting, growing and selling a business gave Emma the idea for Enterprise Nation which was launched in 2005 to support start-ups and SMEs. In 2011, Emma co-founded enterprise campaign, StartUp Britain, that she ran until 2014. In June 2012 Emma was awarded an MBE for Services to Enterprise. Emma was awarded the rank Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2021. Emma started as the Small Business Commissioner in June 2025.
As Small Business Commissioner, Emma is committed to championing the UK’s small business community and creating an environment where entrepreneurs can thrive.
