We had a company who had issued a PO back in December 2024 for £18000 and despite us chasing payment for the past 6 months our emails were ignored, calls unanswered and when we could get hold of someone, they gave payment dates that never materialised.
After an internet search I came across the Small Business Commissioner and submitted a request to them for support. Within 24 hours they replied asking some more questions – there is certain eligibility criteria you must meet to get support from them. You have to be a company in the UK with less than 50 employees and the company who owes you money has to be over 50 employees and in the UK.
I received an email this morning requesting my permission to contact the company who was due us money and by 5pm the same day all of the overdue monies had arrived in the our business account. The service was totally free as well.
